It's a little appreciated fact in life that sometimes you just gotta stop to smell the roses. And that in itself can only ever be improved by stopping to smell the roses with a beautiful woman nearby who will very happily flirt with you. Amongst other things. Carol feels like she is nailing the life lessons lately. Look at her, thriving and everything. Who'd have thought?
Truth be told, it's a welcome relief. With her memory still a mixed bag of lost, fractured, altered and recovered, coupled with her dedication to her mission throughout the galaxy, she doesn't take the time quite often enough. There's a comfort in knowing that as Carol makes herself a scarce shooting star across the galaxy, Fortescue is only ever a cute, flirty text away. So Carol squeezes her hand back, smile tugging on her lips.
Yeah. This is pretty damn good.
"I tried dip dying Goose," Carol admits - because she cannot ever be serious for two minutes straight, lest someone starts perceiving her. Fortescue perceives her, but that's besides the point. Shadows do not shy from the burning of the light, after all. "She wasn't too thrilled with me, I'm afraid. Figured I might have better luck with you."

"Rest assured, darling, that I'll yowl at you less," she chuckles, flexing her toes in the sand. "And presumably flail less, too."
Then again, even if the water was a truly upsetting temperature, she would likely just freeze up. Old habits die hard, and expressing your displeasure in wild motions and sounds isn't a good habit for an assassin or spy. But she doubts that any of that is a necessary thought. People are leaving the water, and entering it, without a grimace in sight.
"Hoping to get a particular pattern?"
